Health and Safety Statement for the Use of Drones on Location by Rebel Boy Media

NOTE: This statement is made in conjunction with our Company Policy for the Use of Drones.

At Rebel Boy Media, the health and safety of our employees, clients, and the public is of utmost importance to us. We take the necessary precautions to prevent accidents and injuries during the use of drones at our video production locations and comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including EC785/2004, the Air Navigation Order 2016, Data Protection Act 2018, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), and the Human Rights Act 1998.

We believe that the use of drones for video production can be conducted safely if proper measures are in place. Therefore, we have developed the following health and safety statement for the use of drones at our video production locations:

1. Compliance with CAA Regulations and Applicable Laws

We understand that compliance with the rules and regulations set out by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and applicable laws is essential for safe and responsible drone use. We have obtained all necessary permissions, licenses, and registrations required for each flight, and we will ensure that all our flights are conducted within the limits of our CAA permissions and in accordance with the conditions set out in our Operations Manual. Our team of certified pilots are trained to operate drones in a safe and responsible manner and have a thorough understanding of the current rules and regulations that apply to each drone.

1. Risk Assessment

We conduct a thorough risk assessment before each drone operation to identify any potential hazards and take appropriate measures to minimize the risks. Our team of certified pilots are trained to operate drones in a safe and responsible manner and have a thorough understanding of the current rules and regulations that apply to each drone.

2. Site Survey

We conduct a site survey before each drone operation to identify any potential obstacles, hazards, or other issues that could affect the safety of the operation. We ensure that all necessary permissions, licenses, and registrations required for each flight are obtained, and that all our flights are conducted within the limits of our CAA permissions and in accordance with the conditions set out in our Operations Manual.

3. Safety Measures

We take all necessary safety measures to ensure a safe and responsible drone operation. Our team of certified pilots are equipped with the necessary safety equipment to ensure a safe flight, including high-visibility clothing, hazard warning lights, and appropriate signage. We will also ensure that we have contingency plans in place for any unexpected circumstances.

4. Non-Compliant Drone Operations

We will not undertake any drone operation that we believe to be unsafe or in breach of any UK laws, CAA rules or regulations. If any part of the operation would require us to fly in a way that we believe is unsafe or breaks any UK laws, CAA rules or regulations, we will not complete that part of the operation and will not refund any payment made for that part of the operation.

5. Health and Safety Training

All our employees who operate drones are required to undergo health and safety training to ensure that they understand the potential hazards and how to mitigate them. We ensure that all our employees are trained to operate drones in a safe and responsible manner and have a thorough understanding of the current rules and regulations that apply to each drone.

This health and safety statement for the use of drones at our video production locations is a part of our overall health and safety policy and complies with our Policy for the Use of Drones, which can be found at https://www.rebelboymedia.com/legal/use-of-drones. We regularly review and update our health and safety policy and statement to ensure that it is up to date with any changes in laws or regulations, or if any new hazards are identified. We require all our employees to read and understand this health and safety statement and our Policy for the Use of Drones before undertaking any drone operation.
